Domestic Violence

Spreading Awareness, Educating the Public

Futures Without Violence have estimated “15.5 million U.S. children live in families in which partner violence occurred at least once in the past year.” These numbers are a sobering reminder of how many children are impacted by a violent and toxic environment. They are not merely witnesses, but silent victims.

It takes a village to raise a child. As helping professionals, teachers, and caretakers, we all play a role injecting resiliency or possibly being at least one emotionally supportive adult in a child’s life.  But to do so, we must ensure as a community, we are always aware and educated, and most importantly trauma-informed.

At Harbour & Holmes Publishing, we believe awareness should be spread beyond October’s Domestic Violence Awareness month. It is one of our missions to educate as many individuals of the community as we can by hosting FREE presentations regarding how children are impacted by domestic violence.

Our presentation is suitable for teachers, social workers, foster parents, and many more. If you’re interested in us hosting a virtual presentation for your group, please reach out to us. We would be more than happy to chat with you and discuss the next steps!

In Their Words...

"Amber and Tiffany did a fantastic reading and presentation for us regarding this book. They educated our group about the impacts of trauma on children and helping children to express themselves. Their presentation style was engaging and easy to follow. The meeting we had was over Zoom and despite the technology issue this can present, they were able to hold the attention of the group. I highly recommend them as speakers for those who are interested in learning more about domestic violence, it’s impact on child witnesses, helping children to express their emotions, as well as learning copings skills to handle these."

"...On October 22, 2020, the two authors with one vision presented the book with live narration to my chapter and guests as a part of our national Domestic Violence Program Initiative. This virtual session is one none of us will soon forget-from tears to triumph, we disclosed and supported each other. Your Feelings Matter is highly recommended for adults that can relate to Riley, schools, domestic violence facilities, and for anyone that works with children suspected or experiencing this specific trauma. On a scale of 1-10, Your Feelings Matter receives well beyond 10 stars!  Thank you Harbour Holmes Publishing for this necessary literature, which provides a voice for children across the world."
